A Poem of Forgiveness

~Nickole Andersen

I choose forgiveness Because He forgave me And I choose love Because so did He

I crucified my beloved King And rejected His precious offering I stood right by With a plank in my eye And I watched His suffering

Each day I see the cross He drags Heavily weighed by my filthy rags But grace and my heart collide and meet My face bowed low at my Bridegroom's feet

He says "Remember child, I loved you first. When you were still a sinner and at your worst. When you still denied me and knew not love I took a lower place than my kingdom above. I called you mine Gave you robes of white And when it's time I'll make all things right So go, beloved, in peace with no fear And tell the world of how I hold them dear"

So I choose forgiveness Because He forgave me And I choose love Because so did He
